This hand-painted Delft Blue vase was made in 1980 at De Porceleyne Fles in Delft.

In 1980, this vase was manufactured at the Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) in Delft. This little vase is hand-painted: floral and geometric motifs are depicted. At the bottom is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital letter D. On the left are the painter’s initials: ANB, the year code CZ (1980).

Interior advice
This Delft Blue vase fits both a classic and a modern interior. For example, you can place it on a TV cabinet, bar, table or on the windowsill. You can also place a few (silk) flowers in it.

The Delft Porceleyne Fles pottery, also known as Royal Delft, is the only manufacturer of Delftware still in existence in Delft which, since 1653, has been hand-painting decorations on objects such as vases, wall plates, tiles and jugs, according to old tradition. De Porceleyne Fles is known worldwide for its products and in 1919 the factory received the designation Royal.
