In 1973, this shoe was manufactured at the Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) in Delft. This shoe is hand-painted: flowers and geometric motifs are depicted. At the bottom is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital letter D. On the left are the painter’s initials: HSC, the year code CS (1973) and the model number 377.
