Delft Blue Vase (Royal Delft – Porceleyne Fles)

This Delft Blue vase was manufactured in 1982 at De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) in Delft. The vase is hand-painted: floral motifs are depicted on the vase. At the bottom is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital letter D. On the left are the painter’s initials: JWN, the year code DB (1982) and the model number 6827.

Interior advice
This Delft Blue vase fits both a classic and a modern interior. For example, you can place it on a TV cabinet, bar, table or on the windowsill. You can also place a few (silk) flowers in it.

The Delft Porceleyne Fles pottery, also known as Royal Delft, is the only manufacturer of Delftware still in existence in Delft which, since 1653, has been hand-painting decorations on objects such as vases, wall plates, tiles and jugs, according to old tradition. De Porceleyne Fles is known worldwide for its products and in 1919 the factory received the designation Royal.
