This Delft Blue trumpet vase was manufactured in 1943 at the Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) in Delft. The vase is hand-painted: floral motifs and flies are depicted on the vase. At the bottom is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital letter D. On the left are the painter’s initials: MVA (M. H. van Aalst), the year code BM (1943) and the model number 180.
