In 1968, this plate was manufactured at the Porceleyne Fles in Delft. The plate is hand-painted: floral images are depicted, both on the rim and in the circle located centrally on the plate. On the back is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital letter D. On the left are the painter’s initials: MPE (M. Peeters), the year code CM (1968) and the model number 1422.

De Porceleyne Fles is known worldwide for its products and in 1919 the factory received the designation Royal.
