This Delft Blue plate was manufactured at the Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) in Delft in 1942. The plate is hand-painted: floral and geometric motifs are depicted both on the rim and in the circle located in the center of the plate. At the bottom is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital D. On the left side are the initials of the painter: AK (mr. A. Koert) and the year code BL (1942).
