This Delft Blue jug was manufactured at the Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) in Delft. The jug is hand painted: flowers and geometric motifs are depicted on the jug. At the bottom is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital letter D. On the left are the painter’s initials: RGIJ the year code and the model number 581.

De Porceleyne Fles is known worldwide for its products and in 1919 the factory received the designation Royal.
