This Delft Blue candlestick was manufactured in 1986 at the Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) in Delft. The candlestick is hand-painted: floral motifs are depicted on all sides. At the bottom is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital letter D. On the left are the painter’s initials: CVL (mevr. C. v.d. Vlist), the year code DF (1981) and the model number 1085.
