About Mobach (Utrecht)
In 1895, the pottery factory “Utrechtsche Pottenfabriek” was founded by Klaas and Jaan Mobach, both from a Frisian family of potters. The factory has been located along Kanaalweg in Utrecht since 1913. Mobach is best known for its unique creations, of which only a small series was produced and then glazed. Several generations have continued this process, and well-known figures such as Piet Klaarhamer and Gerrit Rietveld designed a number of vases for this factory.
