This polychrome lidded vase was hand painted around 1960 at the Dutch earthenware factory Royal Tichelaar Makkum in Friesland. The vase is decorated with geometric and floral motifs On the bottom there is the brand of the factory Tichelaar, model number and the signature of the painter.

About Royal Tichelaar Makkum (1565 – present)
Royal Tichelaar is the oldest Dutch family business, founded in 1565. This earthenware factory enjoys great fame for its extensive range of decorative tiles and pottery, made from locally mined yellow clay. This clay is hand shaped and painted in the traditional way.
