This polychrome jug was made in the Koninklijke Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland in Gouda around 1930. The floral motifs depicted on the jug are hand-painted on a black background. On the bottom of this jug the following can be found: discona (decor), painter’s signature, a house, model number, ‘PLAZUID GOUDA HOLLAND and the model number 823.

Interior advice
This Gouds Platel jug fits in both a classic and a modern interior. You can place it for example on a TV cabinet, (side) table, windowsill or in a bookcase. You can also put (silk or dry) flowers in it.

About Koninklijke Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland (1898-1965)
The Koninklijke Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland, also known as Plazuid, was founded on 2 April 1898 by the Gouda potter Adrianus Jonker Krijnszoon together with Egbert Estié (1865-1910) from Purmerend. At the beginning of the 20th century Plazuid grows into the largest pottery factory and also the largest employer in Gouda. The factory built up a large assortment of models and decorative motifs that always represented current trends and changes in taste.
