This Delft Blue plate was manufactured in 1960 at the Porceleyne Fles in Delft. The plate is hand painted: floral motifs are depicted on the edge and in the center there is a tree with a fence behind it. On the back is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Below the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital letter D. On the left are the painter’s initials: S. FO, the year code CE (1960) and the model number 1584.
Interior advice
This Delft Blue plate fits both a classic and a modern interior. For example, you can place it on a TV cabinet or in a bookcase. In addition, the plate can also be hung on the wall since there is an iron wire present at the back.

The Delft Porceleyne Fles pottery, also known as Royal Delft, is the only manufacturer of Delftware still in existence in Delft which, since 1653, has been hand-painting decorations on objects such as vases, wall plates, tiles and jugs, according to old tradition. De Porceleyne Fles is known worldwide for its products and in 1919 the factory received the designation Royal.
