This Delft Blue plate was manufactured at the Porceleyne Fles in Delft in 1981. The plate is hand-painted: floral motifs are depicted in the center. On the back is the mark of De Porceleyne Fles: an apothecary jar with the initials JT intertwined underneath (these stand for Joost Thooft, owner of the company in 1876). Under the bottle is the word ‘Delft’ with a curly capital D. On the left are the initials of the painter: BJA (Mrs. B. Jansen) and the year code DA (1981) and a “U” embossed.

Interior advice
This Delft Blue plate fits both a classic and a modern interior. For example, you can place it on a TV cabinet or in a bookcase. In addition, this plate can also be hung on the wall since there is an iron wire present at the back.

About De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft)
The Delft Porceleyne Fles pottery, also known as Royal Delft, is the only manufacturer of Delftware still in existence in Delft which, since 1653, has been hand-painting decorations on objects such as vases, wall plates, tiles and jugs, according to old tradition. De Porceleyne Fles is known worldwide for its products and in 1919 the factory received the designation Royal.
